Meiosis proccess help!?

If you have 6 chromosomes to start with in meiosis, then you duplicate and then when it forms 2 daugher cells aftermeiosis 1 is the X and Y chromosome seperated randomly in the 2 cells. or do u need 2 in each or just one?
