Android update needed,can someone help?

I have a Huawei Ascend phone operating on 2.1 eclair,I need help updating to 2.2 froyo or 2.3 gingerbred.Any info,videos,or walkthroughs would be greatly appreciated.BTW,the service is with MetroPCS.Thanks a million.
