Having trouble with this girl i like?

ok so 3 days ago i asked this girl i liked since the begining of the school year to my 8th grade formal she said she wasnt goin so i just said well ok whatever then the next day when i was playin frisb with my friends during recess i asked my friend 2 tell her that i like her then the next day her best friend comes over during lunch and says u hav 2 ask her out so i said ill think about it and i no that they were talkin about me cuz y else would she come over so today i worked up the courage 2 ask her out so i was tellin her everything she was like ok so then i asked if she would like 2 go out some time and she just shot me down now i feel like **** and i dont what 2 do any suggestions
